A WooCommerce shop for Serene Artisan, makers of hand poured soy wax candles, candle bouquets and sculptural pieces. The site needed to make handmade products feel as special online as they do in the hand, and make buying a gift quick and easy.
Serene Artisan’s candles are crafted by hand in the UK, from floral candle bouquets to sculptural gifts and seasonal collections. They needed a shop that could carry a growing catalogue, support gifting, corporate orders and event favours, and still feel like a boutique rather than a marketplace listing.
The challenge was keeping it personal at scale. Shoppers buy candles like these on feeling and occasion, so the site had to sell the craft and the moment, not just list products and prices.
We built the shop around how people actually buy handmade gifts: they browse by occasion, look closely at the detail and want to trust the maker. That shaped two decisions.
