A custom built platform for Leads for Solar, which sells exclusive homeowner enquiries for solar panels, battery storage, heat pumps and EV chargers to installers across the UK. The site needed to work as a real marketplace: list leads, take payment and give buyers their own account.
Leads for Solar is run by an ex installer who wanted to fix what’s wrong with shared leads: every lead sold once, to one installer. They needed a platform they fully owned, rather than a third party lead service, that could list leads by job type and area, take payment online and release the full details only after purchase.
The challenge was building a working product, not a brochure site. Installers are sceptical buyers, so the platform had to be simple to use and the site had to earn trust before anyone spent a penny.
We designed around how an installer buys: see what’s available in their area, know it’s exclusive, pay and get the details straight away. That shaped two decisions.
Build it on their own WordPress site.
A custom lead board, WooCommerce payments and a buyer dashboard keep the platform and the data under the client’s control, with no reliance on a third party system.
Answer the objections up front.
The site leads with exclusivity, explains the pay per lead model and the four step buying process in plain terms, and covers lead quality and replacements in the FAQ, so installers know exactly what they’re paying for.
Visual direction.
Plus Jakarta Sans headings with Inter body text, a deep navy palette with solar amber calls to action, and icon led cards that keep a lot of information easy to scan.
